The Crossfit Open 14.2 Tips and Tricks

Key Focuses:

  • Efficiency will be everything
  • MOBILITY will be key – get those shoulders, hips, and ankles ready to go well before you take this on
  • Get through the OH Squats UNBROKEN if you can
  • Break Up your C2B Pull Ups to AVOID failure at all costs
  • Go at an easy pace VS. trying to get everything done as fast as possible
  • SLOW and STEADY will be key

My Personal Strategy:

  • ATTACK the OH Squats and get them done UNBROKEN if possible
  • Sets of 5’s all the way through on the  C2B Pull Ups
  • Nice and Steady Pace – WIN the “small battles” which will be the sets of 5’s on the C2B’s
  • If OH’s get nasty, I’ll drop down half and half on the reps
  • Will have to DIG DEEP and go to that “DARK WORLD” towards the end
  • GOAL = Get to the Round of 22 (

Here’s the workout: For as long as possible:

From 0:00-3:00
  2 rounds of: 
  10 overhead squats, 95 / 65 lb.
  10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 3:00-6:00
  2 rounds of:
  12 overhead squats, 95 / 65 lb.
  12 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 6:00-9:00
  2 rounds of:
  14 overhead squats, 95 / 65 lb.
  14 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Etc., following same pattern
